So which are the best fixed steps. Lots of pricing variety so I guess also lots of quality variation. Geoff |

Having had both aftermarket and genuine fixed steps I'd now always go with the genuine ones. Yes they will be more expensive but if you're bunging £50k+ on a new FFRR why save a few hundred quid on non-genuine steps. 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

Which engine are you thinking of Geoff? I’m thinking of changing to a newer L405 too and currently have the SDV8 but that engine was dropped on the later models. I read in here that the later 6 cylinder diesels don’t have the anti roll suspension system that the V8 cars have and can be comparatively ‘wallowy’ |

The car I was looking at was a 5L petrol I now mainly do such short journeys a diesel isn’t my best option so it’s either petrol or electric for me, My regular journeys are less then 20 miles so a 400e is not out of the question so I might just wait until the “all electric” Range Rover appears as that may suppress the cost of a used 400e even further Geoff |

The 50 badges must mean that it's one of the 50 year limited editions? That might make it a bit more valuable in years to come.

I bought my 2021 AB only recently - if that combo had been available I’d have gone for it I reckon. Love that tan interior - and you almost never see it. Reckon you’d get used to the blue - and it would be easy to spot in car parks. Probably less likely to be nicked too since the average Albanian drug dealer probably isn’t keen on a bright blue L405…

I take the same view as Rob99 - if you’re dropping £50k on a FFRR then why skimp on some non OEM parts… but take the point that they’re obviously more expensive than aftermarket bits. |

Well I've decided to not rush into things and spend 40 grand on a new car. My existing car ticks all the boxes for me and I can use SWMBOs car (petrol) for the short journeys next job will be rear ACE pipes I think. Geoff |

Well they still have it and now down to £52,782 (rather specific but each to their own) - I think they may have been a bit hasty saying no to your side step request me thinks ………. For anyone not up to speed it’s this; http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202409304674427 I have to say that they deserve to have not sold it, the quality of the pictures is shocking and if this is an indicator of the effort they are willing to put into the sale of a £50k plus car then they should hang their heads in shame. I was down that way so I dropped in they spent a lot of time justifying the current price and how they would have to pay for the steps and the warranty- didn’t seem like they played as a team. On the screen they still have the £55k price I pointed out that it was in Autotrader for £53k which was lower than the extra special, keep it to yourself deal of £54k that they offered me. Does make it difficult to believe a word they say - they give proper salesmen (I used to be one) a bad name Geoff |
