Rear powered armrest - not seating

After daughter dropped an ear bud down the seatbelt hole, and loads of fishing , the rear armrest does not fully go into upright position with flap at bottom not moving . This was after they would not lock in raised position as the rubber over the lock kept catching on the seat . What a palaver.

Any ideas :

Afternoon Mr Tee,

Have you tried lowering and raising the seats, sometimes if the sense they are not 100% latched they play up.

No joy, there are 2 clips on the rear of the flap which are not locking into the frame , too dark now plus my work light out of battery . Have managed to fold down the armrest while pushing the flap closed . Looks like it was getting damaged going up and down with that bent backwards . The joys …

"sorry Mr Tee, warranty will not cover any interior trim " so the really complex mechanism for the armrest is your issue to fix. Fabulous.

WTAF, not even had the damn thing 3 months, booked into main dealer next week so we'll see what the damage is . I'm sensing some tigerseal getting purchased soon.

If someone with these seats can do me a favour, if you press the button to fold the seats down, does the centre armrest flap fold out when the seats go down? Can't fathom out the purpose of it tbh.

Just something that I’m not sure you’ve tried. If you do drop the back seats there’s a flap that you can pull back that exposes the mechanism. 2021 SVautobiography Dynamic Black ( Black wheels need to go )

So just back from main dealer :

Frame inside is bent and broken , it has malfunctioned . Yes no sh!t Sherlock.

Cannot be fixed Sir as there are no spare parts available , only option is replacement of the entire armrest at a cost of wait for it £6,430. WTAF…. 14% of the vehicle cost to me Shocked

Asked them to investigate an intermittent driveline shunt too, all 4 active anti roll bushes are well fooked , and clearly have been for some time . Clearly not been flagged with the full MD service history .

Let’s see what the supplying dealer has to say , answers on a post card.

If anyone has ideas for how to seal this broken flap with a degree of permanence I’m all ears .

I know the majority of the time the armrest will be down , but the fact I know it’s broken kind of niggles .
