gotta ask ....... why?

I know it's a reliable engine but in the L322 Rangie was like a stunned slug!! The N57 is better, lighter and as reliable (apparently)

This now makes sense, as Lewis appeared on JDGeorgia post the other day having fitted a BMW shifter, so now makes sense he has transplanted an engine and gearbox.

At least a BMW lump is less likely to lunch itself, if he can get it to work then answers the problems to a lack of replacement LR engines, i suppose the only issue is the LR engine is modified to run at strange angles..

Good luck Lewis Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

He said on Facebook that it had the original gearbox so I guess it's still 4x4... I think....maybe.... Whistle Pete

Yep, that seems daft then....

Someone should make some Japanese engine fit, be a good car then.... Rolling Eyes Pete

And how would you insure it....

"So you are saying you have a different engine from another brand and you've made it RWD only, That'll be £10,000 please" Shocked Pete

I suspect RWD only is simply because it's too hard to retain the front drivetrain, nothing to do with 'wanting it to slide'.

I would also think it's quite dangerous, with the back end popping out of line pretty easily.
