the smaller plug is for the element that warms up the wipers..unless you have this feature then there will be no power from this plug..

Thanks for that Stan, and for the link to the workshop manual! The heavier cables are indeed for the heater elements and the others for wipers (not on mine). |

I have checked mine also. My nearside does not work. The violet cable is connected to the windscreen ribbon and the blue one is disconnected. I checked the voltage and cn't get a sensible reading from either.
