Climate control panel backlights dull

Not sure if this is a fault or if it's how it's meant to be but the back lights on my Climate / AC control panel are very dim. The car doesn't get used much in the dark and TBH I can't remember if they were ever any brighter, ie the same as the rest of the switches, traction controls etc.
If they are meant to be brighter, has anyone replaced bulbs or LEDs in one?
I suspect that LR will want me to replace the entire unit at great expense and I don't fancy the Chinese upgrade one.
Advice and opinions most welcome.
Pete

Mine dims and brightens regardless of dimming control with the surrounding environment
Thumbs Up

Thanks Stan
I went out and checked before looking for the Embarassed emoji. The knob was turned down a bit but in the dark the lights look fine. I'm surprised that they don't come on with the ignition like some of the others do but at least I don't have to start ripping switch panels out.
The first time ever that I thought there was a fault on a FF and it didn't involve a huge job and a bank loan to fix it.
Cheers.

That makes sense DrF. I couldn't see if the lights were on or off on a dull day but in the dark they look fine.........
Must pay more attention. 😗
