Oil in Air Induction system

I was having an issue where I thought my L405 was a little sluggish and hesitant on acceleration. (I tried my brother and daughters identical L405's and there is a significant difference in throttle response).especially on initial start up. I changed the CSOV valve and noticed there was a lot of oil (100ml) approx. in the pipes going onto and coming out of the CSOV valve as well as in valve itself. As i know it is only supposed to be air in induction side I am very concerned about where this oil is comin from. I also took off the off-side intercooler and the was oil in it as well . I never took off the nearside intercooler as I ran out of time. Does anybody have any ideas as to where this oil is comin from
Thanks

There are one or two videos on you tube (Raymies garage) called "rough running Range Rover"
