l405 - 20 inch OEM - 255/60/20

Hi All,

My SDV8 is currently on 21's and I'm in the process of downsizing to 20's to get a bit more sidewall. Not to everyones taste I know but I'd like to make the entire experience softer and more floaty.

I've sourced a set of 5002 style rims but the tyres aren't up to much so I'm going to get a new set fitted before they go on the car.

Standard size tyres for these would be 255/55/20 but when looking at my options I've seen that the Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season 255/60/20 is actually cheaper than in 255/55/20 and of course provides even more sidewall. This is the size that is used on the 20" rims for the new defender which I know several forum members are running with no issues or rubbing etc on their 405's. But the offset for those rims is slightly different.

So, my question is - 255/60/20 on a 20 inch 5002 style rim on an l405, will it fit without issues or is this just too big for the l405 to handle?

Interested to know what everyone thinks, I was searching to see if anyone had already done this but I haven't found anyone yet.....maybe that tells me everything I need to know Laughing

Sorry if I missed anything Stan, the only ones I saw were people running defender wheels which have a slightly different offset to the RR 5002 styles so thought that might make a difference.

Will go and do some more searching/reading!
