3or5 bearing cranks

I will be changing my L405 before next summer, but I have got used to and rather like the big v8s. However electric is always a possibility as car spends long periods on driveway only then to undertake very short journeys (5 miles) so the v8 would have to be petrol Evil or Very Mad . So now I’m having a look at 3L but am I confusing petrol and diesel engines when I read about the number of crankshaft bearings. Also does anyone have any thoughts or the engines that charge the batteries on electric Range Rovers, they are cheap now and will be even cheaper I suspect when the all electric RR is released. Geoff

Don't know what year you are looking at Geoff but the first few hybrids from about 2014 are starting to suffer from failing batteries which reputedly cost north of £30,000 to replace....

I read this on the internet so it must be true... Rolling Eyes Whistle Pete

Thanks Pete but I want one a bit newer so I can have Google Maps or Waze on the display not sure of the year but I think 2017 was the year it charged over. The only cars I actually look at on Autotrader are 5.0l V8s with deployable steps and towbar, not grey or black and with a light interior. Couldn’t care less about RSE, high spec audio or fuel consumption and I can take or leave tinted windows. I get the impression that the newer the car the more unnecessary bits, bobs and software it has. And call me old fashioned but red calipers and black packs are the province of boy racers (like my son). Geoff
