United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Cairns Blue
Cairns Blue Paintwork

We recently bought a 2005 4.2 Supercharged L322 in Cairns Blue, lovely car, however there are a couple of patches on the roof and above the top front windscreen rail where the paint has lifted off leaving white (presumably primer) patches.

I was at Castle Combe last weekend and there was a 4.2 S/C in the Paddock, same year, with the same sort of paint loss on the top edge of the lower tailgate, I asked the owner about it and he said it was bad paint adhesion with the Cairns blue colour. Anyone else heard of this?

Theres no rust showing at all (aluminium panels?) and no corrosion anywhere, just a bit odd!

Common with most blue paint LR did at the time Rolling Eyes

My Cairns Disco has a few patches, a few customers D3's with similar patches, a friend had an Oslo Blue D2 that did the same

All only really seemed to be the roof areas, for some reason... Confused

Interesting! Thanks for the update.

We have ordered some matched paint (rattle can) and some clear coat but who knows when I'll be able to get to it with all the rain!!
