Scotland

VAG had a huge problem with this a few years ago when they started adding DPF's and not informing people that they are not suitable for purely town running.

If rumours are to be believed they changed their policy and now have to include it in sales literature after a few legal battles with customers returning cars because they had been missold by the dealers..

Plenty of angry mums buying cars for the school and coffee morning runs that bought diesels because they were supposed to be "greener" and meant they could keep more of their housekeeping allowance for bingo with the better MPG..... Whistle

Didn't know about that DPF issue.
I drive a lot of town, but never had that amber light.

Now if it happens, I will know what to do. Give it some speed....

You probably don't have DPF fitted, it used to be an optional extra whereas now they are imposed by the new EURO5 regulations.

It's a 3.6 TDV8, so i think it comes as standard.

Optional extra on 3.6 TDV8 until it became standard on 4.4 TDV8 to comply with new EURO5 regulations.

Yup 4.4 TDV8 standard

Just had a problem on my Wife's 2011 BMW with EU5 guess what the DPF needed a Motorway run at 750 miles from new. Took less than 10 mins at 70MPH to sort it. Far to many gone...
