When one spanner isnt enough (rear drop links)

So needed to do both rear drop links on my 04 as it seemed there were original, no problem i thought
without a ramp or any special tools its a nightmare!
look at the monstrosity i had to make to get it one bolt out

When I did mine I had the same problem, just couldn't find the space even grinding off some spare spanners to fit but my pig hands, tools and trying to see what I was doing is really difficult to juggle.

Eventually I undid the rear ARB mounts and sacrificed the actual drop links by prising them off the spigot, they're nylon and pop off quite easily. Once you've got the link itself off you can grip the remaining spigot with HD Molies and then use an HD impact driver to get the nut off. The upper bolt of the 2nd link was too far gone and the impact driver just sheared the bolt, but job done nonetheless.

Thankfully, putting the new ones on is much easier, and I copper greased up the threads and exposed parts so if I have to remove them again it will be easier.

Have to say though it did take me a couple of uncomfortable hours on the drive as it's really hard to get in there even with the impact driver, had to use a variety of sockets, spanners & links.
