Start/stop button - just the cover

Has anyone found the button cover as a spare part? And with an LR part no? It's just the plastic cover that gets worn and that I want to replace. I can only find the entire switch assembly everwhere I look.

I am not interested in the chinese stickers that are placed on top of the original. I want to retain the illumination and restore it to its original state.

Does anyone know where this can be found?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but the stop start, and other buttons on mine were in a gooy, sticky mess and after watching a youtube video I was able to clean them Using a Q tip and Isopropyl alcohol. They have a 'soft touch' coating which turns into a sticky mess. The alcohol allows you to carefully peel it off and reveal the hard plastic underneath with symbols still intact.
Check out 'Sticky Buttons' on youtube. Hopefully it might work for you

Good suggestion. I will check it out and see if that proves to be satisfactory.

Thanks for the suggestions JD. I checked them out and they seem to be for the entire switch. The search for the cap only continues.

I doubt you will find cap only.
You could get a pre-owned unit and scavenge just the button. To swap them I believe you will have to pull the unit anyway. Getting just the cap out of the unit seems like a decent way to destroy some plastic tabs.

Why the reluctance to just pop it with a trim tool and swap the unit? 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'
