Great day at Solihull. Bit of off road driving, factory tour and grand reveal… Pics to come next week… 300 miles and hasn’t broken down yet

Did you know what to expect? (He say's being careful not to elaborate).

Collected mine on Wednesday too but from the dealer who had it 48 hours fresh from the factory.

Really pleased with it.

My recent history with L460 is 2022 D300SE; 2023 P440e HSE and now P550e ATB.

To be honest, I would be delighted with having any of these models and certainly the "bang for buck" I think is at its highest at the entry end. There are differences of course but IMO it is marginal. I just happen to be someone who does appreciate some of the marginal differences, but never did I feel short changed with the D300SE.

I am really very pleased with the purchase 70 miles in!

P.s. I would have much preferred separate switches for suspension, sound system and aircon. As per 2022/3 model year. Maybe if they had just made the switch panel a little more exclusive to the Discovery rather than ditching it altogether would have been a much better outcome, IMO.

I chose not to research the factory handover experience. Did 3 hours of off-road first, which was fun. Then lunch and a bit of waiting around until factory tour. Then the grand reveal…

Finally it arrives (just when I was leaving on holiday)

Well, after a long, long wait it arrived, with mainly the configuration I specified, but modified by Land Rover to suit themselves!! Interior finishers Piano Black rather than the SV Bespoke Walnut. The dealer did a great job of haggling with JLR otherwise the tow bar and wheels I wanted were also going to be deleted! FFRR user since 1974. RR No. 10 (2021MY P525 AB delivered Nov 2020) Gone. Rubbish…. The factory don’t make mistakes, your dealer would have placed the order incorrectly!

Manufacturer behaviour

Disappointed by your rather dismissive retort. I had sight of the order sheet placed by the dealer and the build spec issued by the factory. The build sheet omitted or changed the finishers, wheels and omitted the tow bar. When challenged, the factory responded by saying if I insisted on the specification I wanted I would have to await the 2025 model year release with potentially another 6 month wait.
I opted to accept the revised finishers on the premise that they managed to "find" the wheels and tow bar I wanted. This is not how customer configurable specification is advertised as operating. Beware of the Ts&Cs that reserve the manufacturer's right to amend / adjust specifications as they deem appropriate.

Only "rubbish" in evidence here

is a manufacturer bullying dealers and customers into accepting what they consider expedient FFRR user since 1974. RR No. 10 (2021MY P525 AB delivered Nov 2020) Gone. No 11. P550e AB MY2024 delivered June 2024
