How bad are these rust damages on a 2019 L405?

Hello,
Looking to join the club of happy L405 owners, I am scouting for a good used car.

I found this car in Germany and had it checked by a garage that noted there was some rust in the underbody (see photo).

They said the rust should be removed and the underbody waxed.

My question, does that sound good enough? Is this a lot of rust? Is it common to see this and is it a big problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Peter

Not uncommon on these unfortunately, but if caught early can be cleaned off and waxed, if done properly they will then last. Also a good idea to wax all the metal pipe work too.

Is this the tank protectors? Mine is shot aswell and when I was looking for cars pretty much all had rusty tank protectors. Has anyone looked into making them in alu to not get the problem again? I don't get why they made all the underbody protection upfront in alu and then tank protectors in steel that rusts bad..
