New owner problem on day one, coolant leak!

Hi everyone, I’ve just picked up an L405 SDV8, it drove lovely, has service history and everything is good drove 70 miles home all fine.
About a mile from home it pops up coolant level low, didn’t think much of it and had to go somewhere about 15 mins drive past home quickly.

On motorway notice bit of a steam trail so stop in services, coolant all under the car, steaming off exhausts etc, looks like bit of a pool of it in the V of the engine and dripping down.
It’s obviously quite a bad one as topped it up with water to get it home and it’s dropped it.
Engine never overheated or moved past the middle on gauge and no mayo etc so thankfully not cooked it or anything!.

This is clearly something that has just happened though as the car wouldn’t have made the journey back behaving normally otherwise.

Are there any places where they’re known to have issues from?, it’s definitely not a small leak at all, it won’t be getting driven until sorted.

The link refers to a common failure on L322’s 4.4 tdV8.
Just worth lifting the plastic engine cover on yours to check because they are very fragile when hot.

Yes, they’re being very decent about it though to be fair, got to get it into a garage asap, thankfully got the work van so can still get around.

I’ve been reading up a lot more and suspect the EGR cooler could be the cause, hopefully a pipe though.

Got coolant under the car, I put some water in just to get a few miles home last night and it has dumped the lot.

It seems to be coming from or getting to the top right of the engine though:
