I can parallel park!

But I always end up with my L460 too far from the kerb and have to go back and shuffle it closer . My theory is that the rear steering is drawing the rear of the car away from the kerb when I lock over to bring the front into the kerb! Anyone else noticed this? I would have thought there would be an automatic rear steer cancel function when parking. Maybe there is and I am losing it! I am pretty sensitive to marking my wheels on kerbs but I have been parking perfectly well for a very long time! 2006 S/C owned from new. Black, sand with black inserts. Shes a thirsty girl. I found it takes some getting used to, I normally end up about a foot away from the kerb, I had a 928 back in the 80's that have 4 wheel steer and that suffered the same issue.

I have given up worrying about it but I do have the same issue. You are not alone.

Not sure that has anything to do with the parking.

You could always let the car park itself but it would be nice if there was an off button.
Another thing that drives me mad is that the throttle map is affected by the parking sensors making it hard to make the car creep in tight spots. letters not necessarily in the right order

Yes after a lifetime of priding myself on parking tight to the kerb, the rear steer throws all that training out the window. Neutral

I've had to retrain my brain and now concentrate on pointing the wing mirror at the rear wheel nearest the kerb to park.

Took some getting used to and for a while it was like doing a slow motion reverse slalom Rolling with laughter

Is it actuator and ecu controlled or some clever application of physics. letters not necessarily in the right order

I have found similar! It also surprises me that despite the car having cameras seemingly everywhere, they don't allow me to see how close I am to the kerb. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

There’s a way to see how close the front wheels are to the curb. If you select “off road” on the camera screen it gives you a forward facing view of the front wheels on either side of the car. I use this for tight width restrictions which comes in handy. Unfortunately there’s nothing that I can see for the back wheels, so old fashioned dipped wing mirrors is the only real way to check them.

Ah great - I will try that! And yes, for those awful width restrictions in London, I typically find myself hanging out of my driver's window with my passenger doing the same on the other side. Terrifying. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Ha ha, I keep bottling the entrance to the Hogarth flyover in the latest car and take the roundabout rather than squeeze through the metal bollards at 2mph. My kids ripped into me last visit! Only thing dented is the ego! Embarassed
