Dead 4.4sdv8 any ides for a recon engine??

I have just experienced the worst experience of a car i loved - it seems but yet to be confirmed that my engine is dead due to an oli issue.

I need to find a reputable company that dont charge the earth for a reconditioned engine i have have a good quote from Ranger Rover Engine Specialists in Barking
https://www.rangeroverenginespecialists.co.uk

Does anyone have experience of them??? Crying or Very sad

Its a bit of a mystery at the moment - a general consensus from a LR technician and the AA man was that the oil pump and oil sensor have both failed so the top end has been getting oil and now there is a horrendous metal against metal squeal. Although it did have a service 4 weeks ago and one of the thoughts were that it didn't have enough oil from the service, it does have a minor leak from the oil cooler but no evidence of oil at the back end - so until i get it stripped we dont really know

Sorry to read this. Don’t rule out the unthinkable, my RR was returned post service with 3L of oil from main dealer, just lucky i did a service on it shortly after and noticed.

You may also consider being a little less specific with your location?

I assume that's what it is? Very Happy
