Jump starter pack advice

Can anyone here advise on the best jump starter pack to start these range rovers when stranded? Been stranded once and don't really want to be stranded again. Tried an old jump pack I bought a few years ago but was useless.

I've never found one that can crank the 4.4 over if the main battery is fully flat, so I keep my old battery fully charged and jump leads strapped down in the boot in an old "Fat Max" plastic toolbox.. Never had a problem & cost nothing at all.

Thanks Andy. I did read about the noco boost gbx 75 that might be able to do it. The reviews are very good but no mention that they have started a range rover with it. So before I buy a jump pack I wanted to hear of any good reviews from the good folk on here.

I have a Noco boost GB40 that I successfully used to restart an entirely dead 5.0 V8.

I have been looking at the noco but I think someone in here said it didn't jump their 4.4. maybe I could try the biggest power one they do.

I sent one back a few years back as I couldn't get it to jump start anything. It may have been user error.

On my current version, there is an extra button to press if the car battery is completely dead. I use it regularly to start a selection of cars, but mostly smaller than a 4.4 diesel.

Used it many times on various cars but it can and has started my SC several times. I think I got about 3 starts (when I had a very poorly battery a few years ago) before it needed charging.

I must admit to taking a gamble, as I didn't really expect it to perform well, but turned out to be a good one.

Surely it’s far cheaper to buy a proper quality battery every few years, and maintain your car properly?

I see absolutely zero need for these very expensive devices. Whistle “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I bought one when I first got my L322 as it seemed to be common knowledge that the battery was a weak area. I also fitted a new battery and since then ( 3 yrs ago) I've never needed to use it apart from starting other peoples cars. Glad I have it though for peace of mind. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I also have a NOCO and have jumped the 4.4 when completely dead, as others say go for a bigger one for the sake of the extra few quid. What I like about the NOCO is its small size but I did have to buy the zipped carry case separate. It also acts as a phone, laptop charger and unlike other units, it does not need to be plugged in constantly.

I charge the NOCO, if I don't use it in a few months I give it a top up charge. Its gotten me, friends and random strangers going at the side of the road as I always keep it in the back of the RR

Funny enough I also bought a NOCO, one big enough to jump start my car. Why is it funny, I've never used it, most of my neighbours have, my son has and I even helped a damsel in distress with a flat battery on IKEA car park. I do however use my C-Tek when cleaning the car as having all the doors open and the steps deploying in and out while I wash the car is hard on the battery. I had something similar to that before the NOCO, it takes a battery similar to a quad bike. What I found with those is they always need to trickle charge where as the units like the NOCO can store a full boost or 2 for months on end. I only recycled my old jump pack recently as it had decided to stop playing ball Current yokes

Been happy with the couple of NOCO GB50s I’ve got - as above, they hold charge for a long time and will start most stuff (eg a completely flat 6.6 V8, the old yard tractor etc).
