Finland 2016 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Kaikoura Stone
My 2016 kaikoura stone TDV6 Vogue (L405)

I replaced my old L322 https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic26137.html with a L405 MY 2016 TDV6 a week ago.

Was happy with the L322 for 10,5 years but due to corrosion and increasing general wear and tear, it was time to make an upgrade.

The L405 has a full but mixed service history at the main dealer and independent garages.
I am the third owner. Has just passed 200 000 km / 124 274 miles.

Timing belt done and gear box oil changed at 160 000 km / 100 000 miles.

The car came with an extended warranty/insurance for 12 months which does also cover the motor in this case, but is limited to 5k euros.

Of course I have done all the possible research on the TDV6.
Drove the car from the quite reputable car dealer straight to an oil and filter change as service was due.
So far no audible concerns even after a cold start even before the oil change...

Looking forward to keeping this for years to come just as my previous fatty.

Finland 2016 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Kaikoura Stone

Now driven 5000km / 3100 miles since August 2024.

Fixed so far:

- Replaced both lower control arms due to clonking
- Had ground points and rear air suspension hoses checked for damage (preventive)
- Replaced swollen wheel nuts all around
- Replaced front wiper blades
- Replaced air and pollen filters
- Reinforced the lower tailgate bolt with a sturdier washer

To do:

- Electronic hand brake actuator motors, ordered (preventive)
- Transfer shift module, ordered (preventive)

The previous owner has a public Facebook profile, so I have been able to sneak all his posts regarding this vehicle over the years he has had it 2019-2023.

According to one "reel" or video, the transfer shift module has been "fixed" and since it is little sticky I want to have it replaced with a genuine one and have the existing one professionally repaired.

So far no complaints.

The countdown to next service is 12500km and to top up Adblue is 4500km.
I will have the oil changed within the next 3000-4000km.

The knuckles seem to be still intact on both sides.
