I’ve done a few ‘thinking’ trips at 60mph, for like 400 miles and got 45mpg on the computer… but people don’t believe me it can be so ‘frugal’. However I’ve never done a brimmed tank run, however there is a YouTube from a guy that managed around 1000 miles from a tank, so search that out and watch. I just tell people now, I’m driving the most frugal Range Rover. And it still lifts its skirt and goes like the clappers when I choose.

I did a tour of the highlends last year, 1,800 miles full up with luggage & bodies, 35mpg average, was quite amazed to be honest.

From Gloucester to Glasgow Erskine Bridge pure motorway run, steady 70 (ish) through the night so no traffic averaged 42mpg.

Got no complaints on fuel, my Merc barely broke 30 and the BMW didn't even get that.

I reckon with a light load at a steady 70 45+mpg easy on a pure motorway run.

just done a brim to brim fill. got exactly 500 miles, 92,5L so 24.6 mpg. computer said 25.5 so not far off.

driving a mix of mainly urban with some short A road bits.

My average shows on dash computer at about 25 but 90% of this is with 1500kg of tin tent on the back and a mountain bike on the roof going from Leeds to North York Moors or southern Scotland , when we go without the tin tent later in the year and around xmas I usually get aroung 30 as i think i'm driving in France , keep it a bit below 70 and it goes up to mid 30's
