Surprise sighting.

Having moved over to Jersey back in May this year,I was very surprised this evening to see that the local plod have an L322 on the fleet.

I was was sat outside a bar on the coast enjoying a evening sunset beer with the Mrs and all of a sudden I could here a V8 drop a few gears and a 4.4v8 petrol Range rover came storming past at full pelt,no police decals, just small blue lights hidden in the rear screen and bumpers, looked like a bmw engined specimen so I guess from 02 to 05 vintage.

Having been here for a few months,I've spotted a fair few l322's knocking around, a distinct lack of L405's,plenty of L320 sports and an abundance of old defenders.

There is a really good independant garage called Car Clinic just outside of St Helier, and they get most of the servicing on the Island for older Land Rovers and Range Rovers Smile

I know a number of owners who use them and they are more than happy.

That looks like a 4.2 Supercharged going by the wheels and rear lights. Got the visible exhausts and the shark fin on the roof that the BMW electronics didn’t have.

Only ever been to Jersey once in about 1985, wasn’t there a 45mph speed limit or something? We hired an XR3i convertible. Nice place.

Hi Mike,that's my one! Lol

Yes,most of the island is 30mph,a few roads you can get up to the heady speed of 40mph.

Hence why I went back to a supercharged, perfect car for the island and 2 big dogs.

Rolling with laughter ah, looks very nice. Never been in a Supercharged. I can see the attraction.

Thinking a diesel with a DPF would NOT work well over there!!

Lovely car BTW. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I was thinking that too but there seems to be plenty over here, plenty of garages offering dpf/egr deletes too......

1 benefit is there's no Mot's to speak of,just a kind of mot(dvs check) when you first register a vehicle on the island.

Another massive benefit is no road tax at all!!!
