The kits are super versatile. I used mine to paint a section the size of a 50p with mine today. Dead easy and rather good results. Hope you all enjoy!

Maybe it's me? I can't get any kind of result ?

I have small 1mm round stone chips down to the black primer.

I have put the chipex paint on , smeared with finger so it's flat , left it to dry and then used the blending solution.

All I have left is the same stone chip or graze - like nothing has been done.

I've done it a few times even leaving the paint 10 minutes to dry (double what is required)

Am I doing something wrong ? CURRENT : FFRR 2012 4.4 TDV8

Vogue: Did you give it a second try?
Matt: You need to make sure the chip is clean and free from any wax polish etc. When using the blending solution you need the touch of a brain surgeon. Try and use as little pressure as possible as the solution does the work.

I've been out today and used mine again, its a process which takes practice and time. I've had better results this time than previous tries. Feel pretty crap about it as I came here recommending it. Sorry you haven't had the results you were hoping for. If you want more help i can send you Johnnys number and I'm sure he will be able to give you better advice/tips than me.

Quick Google search on Chipex gives mixed reviews on other forums, it certainly doesn't appear to be the quick & perfect fix it is sold as, but there was some handy tips discussed too...

Sounds like good results can be achievable with a bit of time and patience although even the most positive ones mention that it takes multiple tries to get the technique right and even then you need multiple layers to lift the paint back to the surrounding level if it is a deep chip.

Best advantage I can see is that you get multiple attempts to get it right, unlike touch up paint/pens....

Will see when i get my hands on mine next weekend.

That sounds pretty good take on it. I've done a load of chips and a big scratch. And the results are getting better each time. Is it the kit working better or me I wouldn't like to say.

Mine has been delivered but I haven't tried it yet. Are there any success stories with this stuff or any hints and tips from those who have put in a bit more practice?

Or have I just wasted another few quid on my RR - such is life Very Happy Geoff
