Smith and Allen oil

Hi, I’m going to service my l405 sdv8 and was thinking of using the following. Smith & Allan Momentum C1 F 5W-30 - Engine Oil. From research it seems to be good quality for the money and will be doing oil changes 6 monthly. Could anyone confirm that is the correct oil and happy for peoples opinions. Also where do people buy service kits from. Thanks.

It's a C1 oil, so it's fine. I know that many others on this forum use the same oil.
I got a service kit from LR Parts.

Thanks thought it was correct but didn’t want to risk getting it wrong.

S&A C1 oil has not got JLR offical approval but it meets the specification - if your vehicle is under any kind of warranty this may be an issue. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Westway is not approved by JLR either but does meet the spec required.

It tends to be the larger companies (Castrol etc) that pay for JLR approval, but that is partly why they cost more as the overheads have to be covered.

I have used Smith & Allan as well as Westway oils previously without any issues.

I tend to study the Technical Data sheets for oil and see what the actual specs are as this is more important to me than a badge saying approved by JLR.

Petronas 5000 FJ has the approval and I used it in both my L322 and my L405. Great premium brand oil and good value.

Available from Opie Oils, along with any other servicing parts. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
