Upper Tailgate Clunking When Opened

Wonder if anyone has experienced this and found a solution?

Recently when I open the rear upper tailgate the catch clunks heavily and loudly two or three times.

Any clues please?

Mine has been doing that for ever. A friend's supercharged also does it. Thought it was normal Laughing locks and unlocks just fine...

Mine does that too - it kind of clicks quite loudly when lifting it up from the catch - I'm sure theres something up with it, but maybe not!

Mine also feels like it catches as I open it. I am super gently and slow opening and closing as I am sure it will give way at some point. I can’t see any adjustment. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini black ivory leather
