Solid brake pedal after a week of not being used.

I thought I'd read somewhere here on the forum about this issue in the past, but despite searching today I've not found the thread. Censored

2012 TDV8 Westminster - Car is fine, brakes are fine, starting isn't an issue.

But.... If she has not been used for a week, I can find a fairly solid brake pedal before starting the car for the first time. This simply means that it needs a fairly firm press on the pedal with minimal travel to initiate the cold starting sequence. Doesn't happen throughout the rest of a day, just the cold morning start.

Something tells me there's some kind of a vacuum leak that's only going to get worse over time. But where? Confused The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Mine's the same but happens overnight. Changing the servo one way valve but didn't resolve it. Reckon the servo itself is leaking so I just live with it. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Although this is an L322 thread, it might be worth noting that mine also does it - L405. I also "just live with it" Geoff

I'm with Geoff, my 405 does it overnight, as soon as it starts the pedal drops so I'm happy to let it be, done it everyday of my ownership, nearly two years and not changed or got worse... Thumbs Up Pete

Can confirm, my old 5.0 L322 used to do this, always meant to do more investigation, but it never gave me cause to, so I lived with it. as soon as the engine started it went back to nice and progressive.

On spectrum of L322 foibles, this was one of the pleasant ones Laughing Formerly happymadison1978
