Is the rear OK to be jacked up overnight using house bricks as shown in photo ?

It is in a locked up yard, so will not be pushed around by anyone overnight until the mechanic gets there in the morning.

I wouldn't recommend that, bricks generally crack /shatter under load and the whole lot could just collapse.

Thank you, in the end he managed to get a bottle jack under the suspension arm to raise the car a little more to get the spare wheel on, what we learnt is that you need to Lock Out the Suspension in Access Mode before you start messing around with changing wheels

Page 90 of the 2011 user manual, Crawl Mode ( Locked Access Height ) , press the lower switch for longer than 3 seconds to lock the vehicle at "Access Height" , I think the idea is that this setting is retained in the computer memory and even if you turn off the car and lock it, it stays in a locked access height state.

page 242 of the user manual says to leave the suspension in On Road position...although if you go to a garage to get the tyres replaced they always ask for locked access mode, no idea why the differences 2011 L322 Autobography - a lot of bells and some of the whistles...owner with no idea!

I think suspension can only be locked in Access ( Low ride height ) mode, it cannot be locked in normal height, which does sort of contradict things a bit I guess !

I guess unless you are using a trolley jack you wont get any other kind of jack in place in access mode? maybe? possibly? 2011 L322 Autobography - a lot of bells and some of the whistles...owner with no idea!
