Get a quote from an indie specialist and see how much they will charge, I am sure there are members on here that could recommend an indie in your neck of the woods. |

Preventative maintenance is cheaper than fixing the repairs/breakdowns from having skipped said maintenance items |

Most oils have a shelf life of around 4-5 years so all the fluids need changing at the very least... Pete

My car is of the same age but 4.4 SDV8 Was quoted £2800 at Newbury JLR for the 160KMiles Service, so have split the job between two Indy's (one a 4x4 Specialist for the Gearbox service and Transfer oil) and the remainder of the service to my local Guys who specialise in Mercs, but do a few 405's and 494's (but don't have the equipment for the Gearbox service). gearbox quote is around £600, I bought the Engine oil a few weeks back so the remainder of the service hopefully will be less than £5-600, I'll let you know. My car has 111K on it, and I intend to keep it for a few years, so it's worth doing these things to prevent bigger bills later on. This is likely to be the biggest service bill for a few years I hope! |
