United Kingdom 2018 Range Rover Autobiography TDV6 Barossa
P400e or P525

I am thinking of changing my diesel Sport for either a 2021 full size P400E or 2021 P525, both Autobiography spec.
Originally I was set on a P525, but trawling through the adds, as you do, came across a P400E in colour & interior that was perfect, so now looking for some advice on plusses & minuses for each of them.
Fuel costs do not bother me as they won't be racking up big miles, its more about any big things to look out for, inherent problems, driveability. Just other peoples opinions on them

I've been looking for a L405, I currently have a L322 5.0 S/C. When I first started looking I quite liked the idea of the p400e, then I had a test drive in one.

IMHO if they had mated the V6 petrol engine with the electric it might have been a very different beast but the 2.0L Ingenium they have used really makes it underpowered in my view when used at motorway speeds and you want to overtake or in general if you want to push the car.

In mostly EV mode around town and up to around 40MPH the torque is great and you don't really notice a difference to the V8 above that then the V8 is more superior.

The next and probably the biggest compromise for me was the way you lose a good chunk of boot space due to the battery. You already lose a bit of boot space in a L405 compared to a L322 but then losing even more for the 400e takes away one of the reasons for me to have such a big car.

Best option is to test drive one and see how you feel as these are just my views but I've now discounted the 400e and looking at the 525 or the SVA ----------- Current Garage --------------------
