I recall (as a southerner) working in Glasgow back in 1992, I actually asked who this Ken bloke was I also recall walking into a Chinese Take Away on the Govan road one evening, mainly with the intention of getting some dinner. Small Chinese looking bloke behind the counter promptly asked "Ye arite meman, wot'll ye be warten the noo?" Effing near choked laughing. EDIT. Have to say though, 6 months of living & working in Glasgow did enable me to understand Rab C Nesbitt. |

Yeah, Govan was a bit rough but the digs were cheap. I guess that makes me an honourary Scotsman then |

Equally amusing was the Indian fella with a Glasgow accent. Didn't choke this time cos I was half expecting it. |

"Govan" jeez you don't venture there in the daylight hours , yeah some of the Paki's can be funny as well , more so when they are trying to bump you when you are buying something from their shops |
