Last service reset ?

Can you find out when the last time the service was reset ?

I had mine serviced about 7 weeks ago & have covered 1600 miles - and half of that was a single motorway journey.

A few days ago it was saying a service is nearly due & today Service Required has come up on the dash. I just checked the oil and it's saying it's overfilled, which seems to point to dilution.

As I'm now in the middle of nowhere in France, I guess I'm doing my own oil change to be on the safe side. I just ordered the bits - oil is expensive here Confused

However, I can't imagine it really needs doing if it was done do recently, so am wondering whether the garage forgot to change it. I have them service it when it gets its MOT.

I don't think you can find out from the car alone (at least on my 2013), but the car logs, in the ECM, counters for:

"Accumulated distance since the last oil change (km)"
"Accumulated time since the last oil change"

So you can see it, if you have access to a code reader.

Thanks - I have a reader but not tried it yet. I'll take a look later.

That would be sufficient as the mileage is on the service receipt.

That does seem really low miles even for oil dilution plus as you say half was done on longer journeys.

Did they change the oil? Neutral overfinch modified

They were supposed to - and they've charged me for it.....

I don't really have another option other than to change it anyway - I'm just trying to figure out whether to complain or not.

Thanks - I think I have it. I don't have an IID, but do have an Autel 200 and it has the basics.

It's been 7063 miles since it's 2023 service - which is 11366km. The ECU is showing as 11400km since the last oil change.

It therefore seems that the 2024 service missed the oil change, despite charging me for the oil & filter Evil or Very Mad

I'm now wondering about the air, cabin & fuel filters that I've also been charged for Confused

That's what I find confusing Stan. The oil level seems high though.....

I've asked them whether there's a way to check at their end - ie whether they returned unused parts.

Either way, I'll have to change the oil - never done that on a FFRR before, so should be fun Very Happy

You could check the air filters easily enough that might help, one will be dirty if not changed.

Local Indy in the UK - been doing my cars for years. No excuse but they were super busy on the day.

I'll check the air filter - good idea Thumbs Up

as the were busy then maybe a quick phone call to ask if they possibly could have overlooked the service reset....this will save you getting your hands dirty.. ... - .- -.

Thanks Stan, it's possible that's what happened, but no-one can be sure. I've already ordered the parts now & the car is showing as overfilled with oil so figure the best thing to do is just change it for piece of mind.

If I was still in the UK, I'd be asking them to do it.

I have no real experience of these things - is this a particularly dirty air filter ?

The other side looks clean.

I've changed the oil now - that was a surprisingly easy job.
