folding mirror

Hi Chaps

noticed that only one of my mirrors doesnt fold in looks like the mirror has taken a slight knock at some point. The motor works but mirror does not fold. I'm thinking I might have a go at this myself as it pains me to have something not working . Am I right in thinking access is gained behind rear tweeter on drivers door again any pointers I would be grateful.

Cheers

Access if gained from behind the tweeter. not sure how much help it would be though as there are only wires there. have a look in the wiki there is a method to reset the mirror by removing fues but cant remember which ones.

I had a problem similar to your second one with my mirror which was slightly loose but would sometimes fold and sometimes wouldn't.

I've taken the whole thing apart and worked out what was wrong. I suspect you may have the same problem as there are a couple of fragile pins which could easily break if the mirror was hit hard enough. This would dislodge the motor engagement mechanism resulting in teh problem that you've got.

The broken parts are currently clamped and setting and will be put back together tomorrow. I've taken loads of pictures so that I can post up a how-to tomorrow as it's a problem that others seem to have experienced too.
