Trans Failsafe question.

I have searched through the forum and read the various posts regarding the Trans failsafe warning. Mostly this appears to happen during driving and can indicate a multitude of ills etc.

However, this morning as soon as I started the car from cold I heard the "ping" and the message trans failsafe prog appeared on the panel. I switched off and then re-started, the message had cleared and I carried on as normal.

My question is, as the engine/gearbox was cold and had been perfectly fine the night before, is this more than likely just an electrical glitch? Or is there something more sinister waiting round the corner. Car mileage is 93,000 No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Sounds like it may be the battery due for replacement

I have had the same thing when I had a dodgy starter motor and as mentioned - it was indeed the battery Wink After fitting the new starter motor it starts instantly and doesn't drag the battery voltage down and as such I have had no reoccurance Thumbs Up
