United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Corris Grey
SOS System Limited Functionality

Got this message up today and my iCarsoft JLR3 isn't showing any fault codes. The message clears with the reset button but the amber triangle is still there. I've read the posts on here about replacing Telematics batteries etc but I'm still unsure as to where the unit is and if the battery change has to be done by a MD.
The car is 2015 Vogue TDV6.
Thanks
Pete

Anyone can change the battery, you can let the car know it has a new one with a diagnostic tool but it really doesn't matter if you don't, after a short time the BCM will adapt to the new battery... Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks Pete.
Any idea where the telematics unit is on MY2015?

Thanks Stan.
I'll have a go at it when the rain stops and see which battery it is. The battery will be past it's best before date by now and I suppose that's as good a place to start as any.
Will report back.
Pete

I recently had this following my car being left for several months.

The main dealer diagnosed a flat telematics battery. They said it may recharge after a couple of weeks of use. It didn't, so they changed the lithium metal battery LLR046049.

I've no idea how long it took them to change, but the part was £46.71 discounted to £29.43 - you can find it for just over £15 from the likes of AliExpress 2024 P550e Autobiography

Update:
The message disappeared as soon as I ordered a new battery and so far hasn't come back.
Might be a coincidence but I've been installing dash cams which involved a lot of tailgate and door opening. I got the 'start engine' message a couple of times even though the main battery is new.
These cars like to keep us on our toes. Confused
