RH clean air duct access 4.4 tdv8

Hi all
I’ve had an issue with the power delivery of my car as mentioned in other threads. The primary turbo power seems to drop as revs increase and pick up again with the secondary turbo.
MAP and MAF sensors cleaned and all usual culprits to and from the doughnut have been checked and fixed.
I can also hear the primary turbo sucking air from within the car when I expect it to be quieter or inaudible.

One of the tasks I have on my list is to replace my vacuum hoses (due to age and mileage) with the thought that the variable vanes may not be operating correctly.

However, another thought is that I may have an air leak in the clean air duct from the air filter into the turbo. Access is limited (from memory) and wanted some clues on how to gain access.

I’ve looked in the rave manual as downloaded in the wiki but cannot find anything about that in the docs except for a locations guide for the filters.

Does anyone have access to any documentation related to this? Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

This is the rave article image… I am referring to the duct labelled “1” that connects to the elbow numbered “5”

This is an image of the part in question.
I see there is a connector near the turbo end of the duct. Does anyone know where that connects to?

United Kingdom

That pipe connector near the turbo end is likely for the crankcase breather hose.

The crankcase will be vented to the inlet of the primary turbo.

A smoke test should reveal the leak point if you can hear air escaping. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Yes, I suspect it would! Thumbs Up
I don’t have one so would need to pester a local garage to do this… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8
