I would go for the ex JLR car, will have been through factory before it left and had all software upgrades, also the black will wear better in my opinion. Plus mileage is lower

Also a smarter looking car, just my opinion

Hi Andy,

I think the main thing here is the difference between a dealer price and a private sale. It’s going to be hard to find direct comparisons but just for some perspective see this;

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202405029305519

It has a twelve month dealer warranty which has to be worth some peace of mind and value compared to buying privately.

Hey scouse exile, thanks for that…. I actually missed the add as I haven’t being online for a while. I agree a dealer would be a better option if one became available, can you remember the price and miles of that link? Understand if you can’t

Cheers

Hi Andy,

It was listed at £39,995 (or maybe £39,999 but you get the idea!!) and was similar miles to the one you had seen as I filtered it on the search.

It’s difficult because some of these cars get heavily optioned when in LWB form and so direct comparisons are tricky.

Cheers scouse

The two i looked at have being avail for a while and I think they are both thinking that there’s a premium for lwb which I believe is not the case, a lot of people i believe would think they are too big.

£40k seems to be the going rate for a 19 plate swb with low miles so I would think maybe 5% on top for one that has the right spec etc.

The guy I spoke to said that he didn’t want to give it away but he wondered whether all the insurance issues might be affecting demand ? I would have it in a heartbeat at £40k but £50k I think is way too much fo a car this age?

What do we think?

Both cars I’m looking at are 4.4 diesel…..

I think for a private sale it’s strong money Andy.

I’d be patient and the right one will pop up.

There’s no way I would go £49k but with 11k miles and a minter it mist be worth £42k?
