4.4 TDV8 heater knobs turned up

Hi,

Just looking at an ad for a 60 plate I may or may not go to view...

Notice in this picture both heater dials have been turned to nearly max. Seller OCD, or a problem? I think the picture was taken round about the early spring.

In another picture, what I believe is the adaptive front lighting amber warning light has been covered up. Maybe advice from a garage in that it's no big deal and not worth the time of diagnosing the fault?

What do you reckon, interested to hear views.

I’d ask for a picture of the dash with the car running.

Or if it’s not that far from you just get in front of it, is it private or trade?

It is a sticker over a warning light. Could be Adapive forward lighting, looks like that icon. Often they can be cured by a battery off reset 2005 E60 M5

Walk away, alarm bells ringing, there are plenty genuine ones out there, not worth the potential pain of what else is hidden or painted over that you've not found yet. Fuji White / Jet 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

It's being sold privately. Not hugely far but still a few hours' round trip.

Of course, going to view would be key to figure out what's going on. Maybe a test to check for overheating would be on the list.

I'm in NI, and at times there's not a huge choice here. There was a well priced VSE 4.4 I noticed fairly locally a while ago, which was snapped up by someone from Kent Censored Laughing

Maybe share the advert which might give more perspective?

As has been said, there’s plenty of others to look at and given your location and assuming it’s a pain to travel etc then this is perhaps not a good start.
