4.4 TDV8 - Cabin heating not working/header tank pressure

Does the cabin failing to heat properly whilst the header tank building up excess pressure always means a head gasket failure? Any idea what else would cause both symptoms? Thanks

If it has lost coolant and there's an airlock in the system to the heater you won't have heat.

Very possible with a over pressured system because of a leaking head gasket.
