I’ve just been quoted £900 for performing a service on my 2019 SDV8 AB by my local main dealer. The car has completed 68,995 miles and my LR app is saying it needs a service in 2,568 miles.

I queried the amount and they stated it was a big service with all the filters being changed. I’d be interested in other owners experiences as I think the quoted price seems high.

I’m going to get another quote from an independent garage who perform services to manufacture standards for a comparison. My only concern with this option is the potential for issues if I have with any warranty issues. If it’s a big service, then that’s about what I’d expect. My service costs at a main dealer were:

17k miles - £642
30k miles. - £637
41k miles - £657

I recently had the first oil change on my Panamera and that was £845!

I know you can use independent specialists, but I’ve always kept my cars under manufacturers warranty and used main dealers for servicing, as I don’t want any arguments if something goes wrong just to save a few £ each service. Different for consumables like brakes, I used the local specialist to change pads and discs when my wife had a Boxster, the used OEM parts and were significantly cheaper. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I’ve been quoted £700 by the MD I use for the ‘year 9’ (9 years/108,000 miles) on my 65 plate 4.4 SDV8, which has done 66,000 miles. Last service was about £650.

I was also offered a ‘service plan’ which would combine the cost of the year 9 and year 10 service with a 20% discount. The quote for the year 10 (it’s a biggie - check the wiki for what’s included…) was £2,900 I could get both done under the service plan for £2,100. I’m likely to swap out of the car in the next 12 months, so declined.
