Hi, just bought my first RR. (l322 2010 3.6 TDV8)
The week before i bought it the seller got limp mode because of DPF so he sent it in to mechanic that knew range roverers very well and he recommended to remove the DPF så the problem didn't recure.
It all seems the work fine, but now i noticed black smoke under hard acceleration. And i think this is due to the tuning being off. it's not happening in different RPM's only when i'm engaging the throttle hard.
Is this something i could fix myself with IID Tool? (i haven't got it yet but on it's way)

Check for splits in the 2 Intercooler to intake hoses. This could have caused the issue with the DPF as well but if the mechanic knew Range Rovers well that should have been the first thing they checked. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Most likely a split intercooler hose - very common on the 3.6 and easily fixed.

It needs a thorough inspection of all 4 hoses as the splits can be very small & difficult to see.

Did the 3.6 ever come fitted with a DPF, I thought that was 4.4`s only in certain markets? I am with the split intercooler hose or cracked inlet manifold 2007 TDV8 VSE
2003 TD6 gone.

1966 Series 2a with V8 conversion gone

From what i have read, there where only some 3.6 TDV8 that got it. So 95% don't have it and i'm one of the lucky few who got it (but not anymore)
