valve effective length (mm) (tip to gauge line)

The specifications in the manual for my 5.0 S/C state the following:

Intake valve effective length (mm) (tip to gauge line) 117.21 ± 0.1
Exhaust valve effective length (mm) (tip to gauge line) 94.39 ± 0.1

There are no other references to this 'gauge line' in the manual.

Anyone any idea where / what this 'gauge line' is? 2010 5.0 SC Autobiography Overfinch in Bentley Silk White pearlescent, 22" Overfinch wheels with 285/35x22 tyres
