New member with a new to me L405 AB


After months of speculating and thinking whilst my previous car was far sale I feel I have pretty much completed Fullfatrr.com!
I'm now finally the proud owner of a 2016 Range Rover Autobiography in Mariana Black with Ivory Interior. There is a long, convoluted story about how I have arrived in RR ownership from a BMW E92 M3 but renewed priorities in life and a long held admiration for the Full Fat convinced me to take the plunge.
Picked it up last Friday following a very smooth and fuss free buying experience from an independent dealer and spent today cleaning the top and poking around the underneath.
I think I have bought well but obviously time will tell. It's nice to finally have a car and visualise all of the topics I've read so much about. I hope not to trouble this group or the warranty too much but also appreciate the vast wealth of knowledge available to call upon.
I spent the five years that I owned the M3 bringing it up to, and maintaining as close to, perfect a mechanical condition as I could. I have a mechanical engineering background as well as the space and tools to complete most jobs myself which I intend to continue with the Range Rover.
The GAP IID tool should arrive early next week but for now I am loving the Range Rover life so far!

She looks lovely sir, very nice indeed. Not everyone is a fan of the fixed side steps but I love mine. Helpful with little people getting in and out but helped me a few times too in tight car parks, it helps see squeeze in through a limited door gap. First time FFRR owner

Thank you.

Side steps were always a must for the Kids and even the Wife and, once a few more pressing issues are sorted, I'll look at changing them for the deployable type.

So far:
1. Ghost II (presumably still the go to immobiliser?).
2. Full alignment and wheel rebalance.
3. Correct a slightly iffy patch of paint from a past smart repair.

I have Ghost II fitted. Works great, especially now you can use it by Bluetooth also. I found thetrackershop were best value. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I might be wrong here but I did read incidents with Ghost & BT.

You can be in certain conditions eg Sat watching TV or In bed and ghost close by on the drive etc thinking you are close by and automatically disabling Ghost without you knowing.

I always use the manual code, it takes less than 5 seconds. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

In my experience, unless the phone is within a metre of the car, Ghost will not de-activate.

Tried and tested. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Ghost fitted and GAP IID acquired.

Going to go through all fluids next.
