Range Rover L322 4.4 TDV8 Westminster MY12
Registered in January 2013 by Hunters in Guildford and used by them for 3 months before being sold to the second owner who kept the car for 20 months. I bought it from Hunters in January 2015 when it was two years old with a three year Land Rover warranty that I took full advantage of.
Under warranty it had the following work carried out:
- turbo drain modification
- faulty suspension compressor replaced with uprated compressor
- replaced oil cooler seals
- front brake hose recall
- oil pump and ancilliary belt replaced to cure a minor but irritating noise
- heating/cooling unit replaced on driver’s seat
Full service history; Land Rover until 105,000 miles and then the same independent ever since. The car has not wanted for anything and has been serviced as per the schedule, and with the additional following work carried out:
18.10.16 - gearbox service using ZF kit and Lifeguard 8 oil - 78086 miles
26.9.19 - front lower arms and ball joints - 126760 miles
4.12.20 - diff oil, transfer box oil and gearbox service using ZF kit and Lifeguard 8 oil - 149045
7.4.21 - front lower track control arms - 150634 miles
26.10.22 - rear shock absorbers (Bilstein) - 164024
11.4.23 - both front door central locking actuators (the old one were becoming unreliable and intermittent)
6.10.23 - N/S rear top and bottom bushes - 175860
The car has covered 181649 miles (increasing slightly with use) with most of this being on my daily 120 mile motorway commute. As the photos show, it is in excellent condition with no rust. The boot edge and wheel arches are perfect. I don’t know what they use in Land Rover paint, however the stuff is incredibly hard wearing and still looks fantastic! If you didn’t know the mileage, you would say the car has covered far fewer miles based on the way it both looks and drives. A friend has a 90,000 mile Westminster and we drove them to compare, and the differences were barely perceptible.
The interior is in excellent condition with no tears or damage to the seats or headlining, and there is no wear or damage on the controls. The car has never been smoked in and has not carried animals (children aside) in my ownership. Everything functions as it should and the aircon is still ice cold. I use the transfer box monthly to keep it supple. It comes with a Bovee blue tooth adaptor that connects to your phone/iTunes/music without the need for a physical cable.
I had a goose-neck removable tow bar fitted to mainly be able to carry a bike rack, so it has never towed anything heavier than that! It is also fitted with roof rails and comes with a set of roof bars, plus a set of Land Rover rubber mats.
Two issues: there is one small ding on the O/S rear bumper corner where I ignored the sensors and hit the edge of a gate, and the servo loses pressure when left for a period (overnight or longer) but immediately pressurises as soon as the car is started. The mechanic suspects a non-return valve, however I have never taken it further because the problem is intermittent and has never become any worse in the two years it has been occurring.
It has recently had new front discs and pads (genuine Land Rover parts) fitted in December 2023, a new set of Pirelli Zero all season tyres fitted in April this year, and the Viton seals replaced on the top oil hose at the rear of the engine (the one that drips oil all over the exhaust!), also in April this year.
MOT and service due January 2025.
