Just how long....

So my circumstances have now changed somewhat and I've gone and bought a campervan to travel in long term, now the Rangie will be out of action for sometime, realistically how long is too long to leave it stood, I really can't bear to part with it, it is literally the best car I've ever owned, yes it'll cost me more to insure with no no claims that's now on the van, and the tax is Β£710 a year, but I'm finding it really fu@king hard to get rid all together... So some advice would be grateful please...

Leave any vehicle for an extended time and condensation builds up in box sections and they sit and slowly rot... spend some money on getting all the box sections treated with your favourite anti rust and it will last a lot longer...

Mine sits for 2-3 months over winter and is ok, I put a trickle charger on it, it will have four flat spotted tyre when you return, I always take it for a good 20+ mile drive when I get back and the tyres don't take long to go round again... Thumbs Up Pete

Right ok, that's a good shout, i was debating putting my eldest lad on it, but at Β£5500 to insure him, not a chance πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

As regards your car insurance, it might be worth speaking to a broker as mine was able to β€˜mirror’ my NCB onto a second vehicle, whilst you built up a separate NCD. Appreciate you can only apply a NCD to a single vehicle, but some insurers will look favourably on you if you’ve built up a decent NCD on your other vehicle. My broker was a company called Chris Knott. Really helpful and worth a call. πŸ‘
