I've just had my P460e parked up for a few weeks in the garage, when I came to back it out, what I believe is the handbrake had stuck firmly to the discs.

It took quite a few revs and force to get it to move and made quite a bang when it was eventually forced to release. I'm about to leave it parked up again for several weeks, and I'm worried that if I keep doing this it's going to cause damage.

Normally I would leave the handbrake off on a car parked up for a while, but it seems you can't with this model, what with it being electric and automatically applied.

Does anyone know what I need to do to keep the handbrake off, and stop the handbrake binding to the discs?

Is it the parking brake or had you just washed it before parking up/ was it very wet? Sounds as though the brake disc pads had stuck to the disc through the initial water and then lack of use for several days. This is common to most cars in this scenario 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

On my Disco and Golf they all auto apply the handbrake but a common theme in the industry is if you hold down the handbrake switch as in push it in the direction to release the brake and keep it held while you turn off the car this will allow you to park and disengage the auto brake.

I have to do this on the Disco and Westie if they are parked outside for any length of time. I just tested this on the Golf as its a 2021 model and it also worked. I'm nearly certain this method should work on your version of RR. Current yokes

Sincere apologies for the late reply. I've been in SW France for the last 6 weeks and didn't have time to check the forum before leaving, or do anything different with the car, so the parking brake is probably stuck again, will find out tomorrow!

Yes bob, I think the car was just cleaned last time when it stuck, so that may have been the cause.

Fla, I will try what you suggest and see if that works.
