L405 dynamic response

Could someone please tell me why a MY2015 TDV8 Autobiography that I looked at today with a view to buying did not appear to have an option to switch to dynamic response mode? I had this feature on my RR Sport and loved it.

Not an option in a regal car!

It's a Sport only feature.

Thanks Nick,

The brochure says that dynamic response is standard on an SDV8 so I'm thinking that means that it is standard, built-in and not switchable.

All TDV8s do get it by default, you may not turn it off. It is the main reason many choose the SDV8 over the SDV6, just because you do get it and you can not on the V6 even as an option - it does make a major difference. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

As also said the active dynamics are only fitted to the V8s. The main feature is the active roll control which keeps the car flat in the corners. On the Sport they add a button to allow a different calibration if the roll and damping to make it stiffer. As I said the button is not there in an L405 because it doesn't fit the ethos of the FFRR.

If you drive a 3.0 and 4.4 back to back then it's noticeable. But live with either and it is just what it is. My only criticism of the active dynamics is that it masks the loading on the outside front tyre when cornering and if you are pushing on it comes as a surprise when the esp kicks in. In normal driving it's nice to have flat cornering.

Wasn't sure whether this was standard or an option on the SDV8. I looked at 3 assured used cars in main dealers and none of them could tell me if the vehicles were fitted with it. I had to explain what it was as none of them knew and two tried to say it was the same as Active Dynamics and fitted to all of them! They looked in an old brochure to find out more but couldn't say whether it was fitted. Back to back test drives in a D300 convinced me that it was. If anyone else is in a similar position, download the build sheet and it will be listed as 'Suspension Types - Electronic Air Suspension with ACE (027DQ)'.

It does cost an arm and a leg when the pipes start to leak due to rust, rear subframe out and a lot of labour to change the pipes, it's happening in a lot of the older L405's and all will fail at some point, naked mild steel pipes feed most of it...!!!
