I was confused by the G1, G2 G3 thing so I emailed Gap Canada regarding GAP IID tool suitablility below is the repsonse i have recieved, I have a 2015 Vogue so the G3 is suitable for my car and all prior models too.

The G1 and G2 have been discontinued years ago.
The correct tool for your car is a G3 and the one in stock. BAS has them in stock.
