Central Locking Issue MY04 Car ( BMW Based)

Strange one, hope someone can steer me along the right lines to fix - this is for 2004 BMW system car

Car working fine up to now, no faults, no issues, strong battery (always ctek topped up) , Duracell CR2032 battery in the remote, however, when I press the unlock button on the remote, it only opens the Drivers door, the rear doors do not open ?

I have re-synced the key fob, using the turn to postion 1 and quickly take out, press the unlock button wait for flashes and then press the lock button 3 times, and I hear the central locking clunks in the doors working ( or is it just the drivers door I hear )

&ab_channel=lorkers

So reaching out to you guys, for more ideas please Smile

I'm pretty sure that's something you can program with an IID tool for example. It is mentioned in the manual somewhere. Single press just unlocks the drivers door, double press unlocks every door.

yes, it works again now for the rear doors with a double press of the unlock key Smile

my problem was that the rear doors probably have not been opened for 6 months or so, and so I got inside the rear seats and opened and closed both rear doors 10 or 20 times, it then seemed to free things up and the double press now works to open all the doors - posting the fix here for anybody in the future who may come across same thing.

My 2004 car, when older, had this on rear doors, one at a time rather than both together. The linkages etc were lubricated and that solved it, so maybe look at that too, i suspect they seize up with age/non-use. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I tend to open all doors when I want to get in the boot, to try and avoid this. Not often anyone sits in my rear seats.

At least it’s sorted.
