we have got several LR's with the Transmission H/B, they work well with no issues - subject to normal routine maintenance - the movement of the vehicle is only the slack which is taken up in the axles and drive shafts - as the H/B works on the rear gearbox output shaft.

Yes, they work fine (although you were best to leave a bit of space in front of you when parking our old Discovery van ...).

Have the displeasure of using a newish Cherokee and that rolls forward a fair way after you've pulled it on too.
