When they introduced the TDV8 they changed the interior too, and I personally think they lost a few key selling points, am I the only one who feels this way?

1. The front seats lost the top half lateral adjustment which I loved
2. The seat heating on the Vogue SE models is now air controlled (as it couples to the seat cooling) but I think is worse as it takes ages to work compared
3. The front cup holders fit NOTHING and I have both types of insert in mine, the adjustable one was great
4. The rear cup holders are also rubbish for the same reason, non adjustable
5. Because the top dash slopes forward, my sunglasses wont sit still, they slide down onto the floor!
6. The fag socket location is no longer ideal for using windscreen mounted devices as the power cable now has to stretch back to the centre cubby and looks untidy
7. I miss the round ash tray device as it was a handy holder and if removed fitted a bottle of water too

Proper handbrake lever ??

thank goodness for that, I thought it was just me. I preferred the BMW seats and the flat top dash - somewhere to rest my mug and fish and chips! They should have kept it as was and just stuck the TDV8 in it,

oh and I HATE electric park brakes! what ever was wrong with a handbrake, they never ever went wrong.

The early seats were better, but cup-holders are irrelevant as I'm neither American nor one of those people who thinks they'll die of dehydration without carrying around a little plastic bottle of water day and night.

Sunglasses - use the (cheap and nasty) holder in the roof.

I like the electronic parking brake, much neater and no more likely to go wrong than any of the numerous other bits and pieces. Lugging on some huge lever seems like a Victorian throwback in comparison.

The curve of the old high dash is just the right curve to hold my Akubra hat when I'm pottering around the peninsula and it just stays in place. 2008 MY Supercharged

Well, I'm the type of person who drinks litres of water (for fun) and I can't find any off the shelf bottles that fit in the newer shape holders, with and without the rubber inserts. I'd love to meet the guy who designed them and just ask WTF went on during his day.

I DO use the sunglasses holder already, but you see I only wear specs for driving (extremely minor prescription for clarity), so I have a pair of specs and a pair of prescription sunnies in the car for driving. One pair lives in the holder, so the other pair, when not on my face, have to sit on the dash. I used to have one of those sunvisor clip on holders, which was great till it broke. I haven't been able to replace it with a sturdy enough replacement yet.

I like the space saving of the EPB but have you ever done an emergency stop using it? It works, but by jimminy it doesn't feel like it will as you are relying on electronics and not yanking on a cable.

Axle: I know what you mean about the Akubra, the old dash was great for wedging any type of hat, now everything just falls off! (I also have an Akubra for rainy shoot days ) Discovery 4 HSE

I found the later 08 seats noticably less adjustable/comfortable than the early ones I had in the 06.
So that is my main complaint.

The seat redesign was a regulation thing - not necessarily a choice. They had to integrate the airbag into the seats and this was not possible with the top part adjustable for whatever reason.

Regulations requiring seat airbags? Am I missing something? Added safety - OK, but regulations?

I've seen the adjustable cup holder referred to as 'Heath Robinson' - I think it's one of the best non-go-fast-or-go-anywhere things ever put into a car. Glad to see I'm not alone.

The only thing I really like much more on the newer RR's is the (semi normal) key position vs. the older crud-funnel position.

the normal handbrake was good, if there was a problem it was mechanical - and if working properly it was either on or off.

The new electric park brake is , not only does it rely on mechanics but also now electronics and is exposed to dust and mud etc - as you would expect. If you use your RR as intended it frequently gets jammed and clogged with crap and requires an extremely expensive return to the dealer to rectify. OK on a puffy road going car - not on a RR used off road! even LR Experience instructors tell you NOT to apply the electronic handbrake because of the problems with it

The electronic parking brake is just the same as the previous drum-in-disc handbrake, the only difference is that it's applied with an actuator (above the back axle I think) rather than your arm.

Never had a problem, despite it having been muddy enough to have had vibration issues from lots of crud stuck around various rotating parts.

Maybe they should go back to the old transfer box one (where it lurches forward a foot after putting it on).
