Turbo gone pop - other bits worth replacing?

It finally happened to my 3.6 TDV8, after 171k miles the passenger side turbo seized and the driver's side started sucking oil as a consequence. Happy with how long they have lasted to be fair, but as it will be in bits, is it worth changing anything else nearby at the same time, given the high mileage?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Zeb, I am just in the same boat, you did well to get 171K ! mine is at 110k. I now have that big dilemma, Midland Tubos (recommended on here and by local machine shop) can refurb my turbos for £360 each. OR I pay circa 2k for a pair of OEM Borg & Beck units. I reckon at 110k I would hope to get at least another 100k out of the the FF so am leaning towards the extra spend on new OEM over recon.

Not a job I want to have to do twice !. L322 2007 TDV8 3.6

Thanks! Mine has been somewhat pampered but, other than the staryer motor and alternator, nothing major has ever been replaced...so am expecting gearbox to be the next big thing!

I am going for new replacements at Famous Four Louth, cist is £circa £4.8k...which I think is pretty good? As you say, not a job you want to do twice, hence new ones...but you pays your money and... Mine has just been uber reliable, so, whilst I could buy another one for similar money, I know exactly what has been done to this one after 7 years ownership and I know it is a good one.

Hoping to get to 250k miles at least!😁
